Cesta navideña - Christmas basket

Esta cesta la he decorado para guardar en un mismo sitio todas las tarjetas de Navidad que voy haciendo...Creo que no sólo es práctica, ¡sino también muy bonita!

I decorated this basket to keep in one place all the Christmas cards that I make...I think is not just practical, but very beautiful too!

Bota de Navidad - Christmas stocking

Esta botita tan graciosa se la hice el mes pasado a la sobrina de Alex para sus primeras Navidades. El nombre va bordado a punto de cruz, y para poder realizarlo utilicé un trozo de cañamazo sobre la tela de la bota.

El corazón y la estrella también los hice yo; están hechos de Fimo Air Light de color blanco, al cual di forma con unas planchas de relieve y unos moldes para galletas.

I made this cute Christmas stocking last month for Alex's niece's first Christmas. I cross-stitched her name and, to do so, I used a piece of waste canvas on top of the stocking fabric.

I also made the heart and the star myself; they are made of white Fimo Air Light, which I shaped using some embossing pads and a couple of cookie cutters.

Guirnalda rústica - Rustic garland

¡Otra de mis guirnaldas!. Esta la hice por Navidad para nuestro dormitorio...
Los corazones de madera los compré en el trabajo y las piñas las recogimos nosotros en uno de nuestros paseos...
Después, lo único que tuve que hacer fue poner unos ganchitos a todo, y atarlo a un trozo de cuerda del jardín.
Another one of my garlands! I made this one at Christmas for our bedroom...
I bought the wooden hearts from work and we picked the pine cones in one of our walks...
Afterwards, the only thing I had to do was to add some little hook screws to everything and tie it to a piece of garden string.

Navidad - Christmas

Otra guirnalda navideña, esta vez a punto de cruz...
Los corazones son de Aida por delante y de tela de cuadritos roja por detrás. Llevan relleno de poliester.
Another Christmas garland, but this time it is cross-stitched...
The hearts are made of Aida at the front and red gingham at the back. They have polyester filling inside.

Servilleteros - Napkin rings

Estos servilleteros los hice hace un par de años, pero siempre se me olvida ponerlos en el blog...
Simplemente compré unos adornos para el árbol de navidad que me gustaron, corté la cuerda que llevaban y los pegué a estos anillos. Los anillos no son más que el tubo de cartón del interior de un rollo de papel de cocina, pintado de rojo, barnizado y cortado en trozos.
¡Super sencillo!. Las capas de pintura y de barniz endurecen mucho el cartón, así que pasadas dos Navidades, siguen como nuevos. En total me salieron ocho.
I made these napkin rings two years ago, but I'm always forgetting to put them in the blog...
I simply bought some Christmas tree decorations that I liked, I cut the cord and I glued them to these rings. The rings are in fact, the cardboard tube from inside a kitchen roll painted in red, varnished and cut in pieces.
So easy! The coats of paint and acrylic varnish make the cardboard much stronger, so after two Christmases, they are still like new. I made eight in total.

Cuando el año pasado cambié la decoración del árbol de Navidad, no sabía que hacer con estos adornos...así que este año los he convertido en una guirnalda. Simplemente los cosí a un trozo de lazo rojo, al que en cada extremo añadí una lazada una pequeña anilla. Es una buena forma de decorar la casa en Navidad...
When last year I changed the Christmas tree decorations, I didn't know what to do with these ones...so this year I have transformed them into a garland. I simply sewed them to a piece of red ribbon, and added a bow and a jump ring to each end. It is a good way to decorate the home at Christmas...

Tarjetas navideñas - Christmas cards

Estas son algunas de las tarjetas que hice por Navidad. Hice varias de cada modelo, pero aún así, no me dio tiempo a enviar a todo el mundo...Creo que dentro de poco voy a empezar a hacer las de las próximas Navidades para que no me vuelva a pasar lo mismo...

These are some of the cards I made for Christmas. I made several of each design, but even then, I didn't have enough time to send them to some people...I think soon I will start making the ones for next Christmas, so it doesn't happen again...

Centro de mesa - Centerpiece

La base con las cortezas de madera la tenía ya de la boda de nuestra amiga Lucy, así que lo único que tuve que añadir para hacer este centro de mesa navideño fueron las flores, la vela, y unas bolas doradas (todo ello recliclado de otro centro de mesa que hice hace un par de años...).
I already had the base with the bark from our friend Lucy's wedding, so the only things I had to add to make this Christmas centerpiece were the flowers, the candle and the golden baubles (all of them recycled from another centerpiece that I made a couple of years ago...)

Velas rústicas - Rustic tea lights

Un proyecto super fácil y muy rápido. Con un trozo de cuerda del jardín, estos simples recipientes de cristal para velas, parecen otros. Yo los hice este año para Navidad, pero pueden quedar muy bien también para una decoración otoñal.
A very easy and quick project. With just a piece of garden string, these simple glass tea light holders look completely different. I made them this year for Christmas, but they can look really good too as an autumnal decoration.

¡A envolver! - Let's wrap!

¡La solución perfecta para el papel de regalo navideño! La idea se me ocurrió una noche mientras ordenaba: cansada de mover los rollos de papel de un sitio a otro, decidí hacer esta bolsita para tenerlos todos juntos y a mano. Todos los materiales los tenía ya en casa de proyectos anteriores, y coserla no me llevó sólamente una hora. ¡Los bolsillos son muy pácticos también!
The perfect solution for the Christmas wrapping paper! I came up with the idea one evening while tidying up: tired of moving the paper rolls from one place to another, I decided to make this bag to keep them all together and handy. I already had all the materials at home from previous projects, and sewing it only took me one hour. The pockets are very practical too!

Estos búhos de fieltro tan graciosos, los hice la semana pasada para el trabajo...
Es un kit que vendemos este año dentro de nuestra sección de navidad, para hacer tus propios adornos para el árbol. Pensé que estaría bien que la gente viera el resultado final... Todo el material está incluido en la caja, así que lo único que me hizo falta fue una aguja de coser y pegamento. No sé si es porque están muy bien de precio o qué...pero desde que los colgué el otro día, ¡se venden como churros!.
I made these cute felt owls last week for work...They are a kit that we sell this year as part of our Christmas range, to make your own Christmas tree decorations. I thought it would be nice if people could see the finish project...
All materials are included in the box, so I only needed a sewing needle and some glue. I don't know if it is because of the price, but since I displayed them the other day...they are selling like hot cakes!

Mini tartaletas navideñas caseras - Homemade mini mince tarts

Al principio, cuando llegué a Inglaterra no me gustaban nada, pero desde que aprendí a hacerlas yo misma y a mi gusto, se han convertido en mi dulce favorito de las Navidades inglesas. Calientes y con un poco de mantequilla al brandy... ¡están buenísimas!. El picadillo de frutos secos, grasa y especias lo compro ya hecho, al igual que la mantequilla. La masa quebrada a veces la hago yo y a veces la compro; depende del tiempo que tenga...

At first, when I arrived in England, I didn't like them at all, but since I learnt how to make them myself and to my taste, they have become my favourite sweet of the English Christmas.

Warm and with a little bit of brandy butter...they are delicious!. I buy the mincemeat ready made as well as the butter. The shortcrust pastry sometimes I make it myself, sometimes I buy it; it depends on how much time I have got...
